Dear Sir or Madam,
more and more people are vegan for ethical reasons and therefore avoid all animal products. As an animal-rights organization one of the things we want to do is disseminate information about veganism. Every now and then we get enquiries relating to vegan products.
It is not as simple to answer these enquires as it seems to be at first sight. Apart from obvious animal products such as milk and lard a lot of processed food contains hidden animal products or ingredients that may be of animal or of plant origin (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, vitamins and flavourings, to give only a few examples).

Those of your products that might be vegan are as follows:

We should be grateful if you could let us know:
a.what the ingredients are (including these that do not have to be listed by law)
b.what the compound ingredients are composed of
c.what the synthesized ingredients are synthesized of (vitamin D for example may be synthesized of lanoline, wool fat, wich is not vegan)
d.what other materials are used in the manufacturing process (including any that are not present in the end product or are present in very small amounts)
e.all these queries relate to the packaging as well (e.g. glue containing casein for the labels)
We should be grateful if you would provide us with the same information about any of your other products that could be vegan.

If this circumstances change, we will immediately send you a note, so that you are able to change the labelling of the relevant dishes. We can/ We cannot exclude (please cross out the non relevant) contamination through producing on the same production line.
